The results of the tests from last week came today…

The results of the tests from last week came today. My doctor says that there is nothing to worry right now, but I might need a pace maker in 15-20 yrs. I know its a long time, and anything can happen in the mean time, and I shouldnt worry about it; yet I am afraid I might just die one day without notice. I am scared.

a pacemaker in 15 years? that’s kind of young. unless it’s something genetic, why didn’t the doctor recommend exercise or healthy diet – you know, gross things like that?

Something I learned when my father visited his heart specialist: Those things that doctors say are to scare you, more than anything else. The doctors figure if they scare you, you’ll start taking better care of yourself. So chin up, nothing to fear.

Its got nothing to do with exercising or eating. She says its just that way inherently. Anyways, I am taking all my medical records from the last 3 years with me on my trip home. I want to get a second opinion from my family cardiologist; who BTW is THE best doc in the entire country. I pulled a few strings and got an appointment with him on August 2nd. Fingers crossed.

Best of luck on your doctor’s appointment, Pseudo! I am sure you’ll be fine. What your doc said may have been scary but Vixen is right, but on a more humorous twist from my side… after a few, ok, maybe more than a few, visits with docs this year, I’ve learned to take what they say with a grain of salt :)

Second opinion is a wise idea. Good luck, and don’t let it stress you out!
